My day started off with waking up at Monico's house, playing the saxophone in there [Over the Rainbow and Beautiful as You] (Beautiful as You is an insider ;) ) but anyways, so me & CJ got some KOREAN BBQ. Woo. But we didn't eat as much as we usually do. However it was nice that Rochelle was feeding me x] haha sorry Gary ;) After that, I was pretty much messing with Rochelle & Co. via on the road blockage :D
Anyways, I went home, knocked out, and decided to go biking out. I first stopped by the high school I was supposed to go to if I hadn't got my inter-district transfer to Long Beach Poly. And man, that school has depressing written all over it. Hell they even dedicated their sign thingy to the graduates that got accepted to UC's and CSU's (which were 99% asian). In a mexican school xD
So I randomly decided that on my way back home, I would go to this temple. It has always intrigued me everytime I drive by it, but biking to it was a different experience. First of all, entering the grounds beyond the gate brought a chill down my spine for some odd reason. It felt like that I was invading holy ground [which in turn I was]. After marveling on how wonderful it looks inside through the windows, I eventually came across a random door. Being stupid, I nudged the door knob a bit, and it so happens that the door actually opens o__O
So I enter this temple, with my slippers slapping the white pearl floor, and the first thing I see is some eye looking at me. Anyways, I took my time, marveling at the pillars, decorated with colorful dragons, and how the room was perfectly symmetrical. There were pillows on the floor, and I'm guessing thats where people bow and pray. Looking at the ceiling, it felt as if I was looking into the sky (well maybe because the ceiling was painted with sky colors). Being of Christian faith, going into this type of temple brought some sort of fear into my soul, and my cholesterol-filled heart still recovering from the Korean BBQ. Walking through the temple, I felt like that I wasn't the only one in there, but I continued to explore regardless. All of those statues and the smell of incense really didn't help my fear levels go down. As a matter of fact, it rose when I suddenly came across this HUGE statue in the dead center. It sorta felt like the dieties are punishing me or something. Turns out, there was really somebody else in the temple. As soon as I heard other footsteps other than my own, I immediately dashed outta there like no tomorrow, and hopped on my bike which was conviently parked outside and not jacked. So I went around the temple, and surprisingly, there was a normal house that stood there. Being stupidly curious, I peeked through the window, and I witnessed a TV that was on. Turns out that I saw myself on that TV screen, and I freaking got outta the temple grounds ASAP and dashed home from there.
Its interesting what bike rides can give you. Especially when its a soul searching one o__O
Well now that I'm back from some Indiana Jones crap, I'm organizing a sax sectional with Greg to happen on Thursday. The little freshman needs to get on top of the music & marching :]
