Master & Apprentice

Well.

When I first began high school, wait, when I began BAND CAMP, I was an annoying, complaining n00b on the Tenor Saxophone. I remember I wanted to play clarinet or alto sax for Marching band because those were the instruments I was familiar with, but Mr. Stevens forced me to play tenor due to the lack of Tenor sax players at the time.

I gotta say, that was the best forced-decision making ever to happen in my music life :)

Now fast-forward to the present. I'm officially a senior now, which means I'm supposed to be considered NOT an apprentice, but a master and someone to look up to now. Although I still have TONS to learn. So I'm the official section leader of the saxes in Marching Band, and I guess you can say that I'm not ready yet x] However, its funny that one of the new freshman coming into the sax section is a reminder of me. He came from Hudson (same school I came from), is playing Tenor from Alto (same as myself), filipino (bonus points), and going through the same struggles on Tenor. I LAY CLAIM AS THIS GUY IS OFFICIALLY MY FAVORITE FRESHMAN!

Its funny how the world now comes full circle :)

So right now, I gotta call up Greg and set-up the session :] Btw, if you're a sax player going to Poly High School, consider going to this sectional! It'll be good :D
